这部影片改编吴有音创作长篇小说《南极之恋》。影片讲述的是两个完全没有共同语言的男女，相遇在随处绝境的南极之中，面对着如此的困境，两人互相产生情愫、相互鼓励，最终找到了回家的道路

在广阔无人的南极之上，两个人显得异常渺小，以二人之力在这片南极之中是很难生存的界限中，荆如意按照自己所学的物理知识，希望能够找出一些希望，生命也进入了倒计时，在这里生命十分脆弱。如意负责战略，富春东南西北像大海捞针一样，前行之路艰险弥漫，每向前一步都像走在死亡的深渊。

雪崩突如其来也将富春的意志所击溃在长时间的雪地行走之中，富春换上了雪盲症，一片黑暗世界中如意向光芒，也成为了富春想要回家的信号，成为支撑绝境之中活下去的信念。
