本剧改编自西尾维新的《物语系列》改编而来。

主要分为上下两卷：上卷故事发生在一个暑假，故事主人公正在为高考做准备，他发现妹妹不在家，平常在一起玩的朋友却在那里看电视，二人闲聊一番后她想着去找千石，便起身前去寻找他，在路上他遇到了另一位朋友，二人互相吐槽一番后还聊了一些莫名其妙的事，就这样来到了千石家里，在他家主人公经历了一些尴尬的事并玩了几个奇怪的游戏......

下卷的故事发生在中元节的前一天，故事男主人公带着妹妹去了朋友家里，原来是早上妹妹给哥哥卖萌后得知了哥哥认识自己的偶像，于是二人直接前往妹妹的偶像家里，路上兄妹二人打赌妹妹犯规就剪掉了标志性的长发，突然路上出来了一个问路的神秘女子，男主人公向朋友求助得知路人所谓的地方是自己朋友住过的废弃建筑，到了妹妹偶像家之后他就赶紧去查问路上遇到的怪人的事情......
