《少年可期》节目找了7位比较年轻的新生代实力歌手，他们都有各自的唱功和唱歌方面的特点，但是唯一欠缺的是经验和对于音乐深层意义方面的理解。

节目同时安排了6位嘉宾，每一期会有一位特殊的兼备到场，第1位嘉宾是腾格尔，在腾格尔到来之后，所有的7个音乐天才需要和腾格尔进行学习，学习音乐方面的才能。若是可以将嘉宾身上的真功夫学到一二，那么足以让这七位少年改变自己真正的人生轨迹。这7位少年将和自己的师傅共同在一起生活三天两夜，在这期间，嘉宾会为这7位少年解答心中的疑惑，同时以老一辈艺术家的身份对同学们展开教导，同时影响他们的人生轨迹。这7位少年在刚开始学习的时候并不是一帆风顺的，首先少年和老艺术家的思想有很多方面的冲突。
